    Joe,
I completely agree with you comments on the perceived value by our customers. This is the result of a flooded market, but one needs only to turn to eBay to see the same low value of even new product. We have promoted PGA Trade-In Network with e-mail blasts as well with mild success.
For us the best time to promote the PGA Trade-In Network is during our demo days. It is during these demo days that the customer finds equipment that helps them enjoy the game more. So we soften the blow of the new purchase with information about what their old product is worth. That trade-in value, along with a demo day discount, has proved to be successful for us.

John, Thanks for the input. Has anyone had any success with their gift certificates from PGA Trade-In Network or offering gift cards from their shops for old clubs?

    Joe:
Thanks for your thoughts on the PGA Trade-In Network program.
I have not had any experience at this time utilizing this service to date. I am familiar with the very, very low pricing I see available on the Internet. Sorry I can not offer a more meaningful response or post at this time, but certainly enjoy learning about what is what with my fellow professionals .
I am sure this new service will have its rewards in the future for all for each of us!
    All the best Joe,
    Terry

    Joe,
I agree with John’s suggestion about taking advantage of your demo days to promote PGA Trade-In as a service. We also find many of our members have clubs in the garage collecting dust that still have some value and we suggest checking the values for them. Even with the low residual values there are always members who are looking for the latest club and by using our fitting carts and launch monitor we are still seeing members who are taking advantage of the trade in option.
I don’t think we are doing them a disservice because it is easy to show them the actual values that the clubs are fetching online. At the end of the day, we still have a flooded market, but sometimes the few extra dollars in savings that the trade in offers is enough to motivate the customer to make the purchase.
    Thanks,
    Mike
