Sonartec Concludes 2003 PGA Tour as # 3 Fairway Wood

Sonartec Golf made a noteworthy mark on the PGA Tour in 2003. Ninety-one players used the company’s clubs during this season. Sonartec ranked number three for fairway woods in play in 15 PGA Tour tournaments during 2003, including 8 of the last 10 events of the year.
With a total count of 685 clubs on the PGA Tour, Sonartec increased its fairway wood count by more than 31% over the previous year, finishing in the number four spot for total fairway woods in play on the 2003 PGA Tour.

Sonartec was able to battle the "big boys" of the industry on the PGA Tour with their high performance fairway woods, finishing behind only Taylor Made, Callaway and Titleist for total number of fairway woods in play for the year. This is quite a feat considering only three of the players using the clubs were compensated to endorse the product for this four-year-old company.

"The PGA Tour is an important venue, which has generated an enormous buzz for our products," said Sonartec President and CEO Toru Kamatari. "When you have almost a third of all the players on the PGA Tour using your clubs, it gets the attention of the influential people in the golf industry and spreads the word that Sonartec makes the best woods on the market."

The innovative Driving Cavity technology also led Sonartec to be named the "Best Fairway Woods of 2003" by PGATOUR.com, the "#1 fairway wood of 2003" by Aboutgolf.com and the "#1 fairway wood and utility wood" by GolfTest USA.

Players using Sonartec accumulated 33 top ten finishes and 18 top five finishes on the PGA Tour in 2003. Also, 14 victories around the world in 2003, including two PGA Tour wins at the Buick Classic and 84 Lumber Classic.
Sonartec was the third most used fairway wood at the British Open and had three top ten finishes at the US Open. Two of the top ten finishers at the US Open were Sonartec staff players Cliff Kresge and Nick Price.

More than 20 players who used Sonartec clubs finished in the Top 125 on the final PGA Tour money list, earning them full exemption status for 2004. Five additional players successfully passed Tour Qualifying School using Sonartec clubs. The company also had the top money leader on the Nationwide Tour and the rookie of the year on the European Tour using Sonartec clubs.

Sonartec is a Carlsbad, Calif., golf company, specializing in fairway woods and drivers. Sonartec’s clubs have been designed to accommodate all ranges of players, from the PGA Professional to the average golfer.
